Rich Girl

Her mouth is drenched in champagne.
Her eyes are a designer pair of lustrous coins.
Her lips are made of satin pillow cases.
Not only is her skin porcelain, but her fingernails are glass.
Her dress is made of money, but she's only rich because
her heart is made of gold.

She she showered him with gifts.
Nothing she gave him even missed opulent packaging,
let alone a bright red bow.

She took him out to dinner, to feed his hungry heart.
She wanted to devour him; giving was her art.

He was such a cripple, so she bought him bandages.
He was lonely, so she purchased friends for him.

She was the giver.
He was the taker.
They were the contract.

But her money thinned, for he did not give her an income.
He lowered her value, and to him, charity was satisfaction.

Now she's broke.

He never cared
about how much she spent on him.
